YOUR FIRST VISIT

Here's exactly what to expect when you clip in at CycleBar Ashburn. No guesswork. No intimidation. Just a good workout with people who want you to have a great time.

Before you come

THE NIGHT BEFORE

01

BOOK YOUR BIKE

Reserve online or through the CycleBar app. Pick your bike number when you book. Riding with a friend? Ask which bike they chose and grab the one next to it.

02

WHAT TO WEAR

Comfortable workout clothes you'd wear to any gym. Leggings or shorts, a tank or t-shirt. Cotton socks work fine with cycling shoes. No special gear needed.

03

WHAT TO BRING

A water bottle is nice but not required. We have water stations in the studio. We also have lockers, a towel station, and showers if you need them.

When you arrive

WALK IN, GET SET, CLIP IN

Arrive 15 minutes before your class starts. Here's what happens next.

  1. 15 min out
Check in at the front desk. We already have your booking and shoe size. Say hi, sign the waiver if it's your first time, and we'll walk you through the studio.
  2. 12 min out
Quick studio tour. We'll show you the cycle room, lockers, water stations, and where to find the towel station on your way out.
  3. 8 min out
Grab your shoes. Cycling shoes are free on your first visit. They clip into the pedals so you're locked in for power on the push and pull.
  4. 5 min out
Bike setup. An instructor or team member adjusts your seat height, saddle position, and handlebar height to fit your frame. Takes less than two minutes.
  5. Go time
Clip in. Heel down, toe clicks into the pedal. If you can't get it, flag us. We've got you.

During the ride

WHAT THE ROOM ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE

Theatre style, not gym style

Lights low, screens bright, music loud. You ride in rows facing the instructor. It's built to feel like a club, not a commercial gym. Most people forget they're working out.

Everything rides to the beat

Pedal speed, hill climbs, sprints, upper body moves. All choreographed to the playlist. Don't worry about nailing every count. The point is effort, not perfection.

You control the resistance

If the class is pushing harder than you're ready for, back off. If you want to push more, add resistance. Nobody's watching your numbers but you.

More than cardio

Most 45 minute classes include a short upper body segment with light weights. Still cardio, just different muscles. It breaks up the ride in a good way.

After your class

YOU DID IT. NOW WHAT?

  • Towel up. You will sweat. The towel station is right on your way out.
  • Rehydrate. You just burned 400 to 700 calories depending on effort level. Drink water.
  • Check your stats. Performance and some Classic rides track distance, power, and calories. Your breakdown lands in your inbox within a few hours.
  • Book your next ride. Most first timers say their second class feels way better than their first because they know what to expect. Schedule it before you leave.

Insider tips

A FEW THINGS FROM REGULARS

  • Eat a small snack 60 to 90 minutes before class. Not right before.
  • Your first ride is about learning the room. Go at roughly 70 percent effort.
  • Saddles feel intense for the first few rides. This fades quickly. No, you don't need padded shorts.
  • Feeling lightheaded? Stop pedaling and flag an instructor. No judgment.
  • Loved it? Tell us. Something could be better? Also tell us.
